While our astronomical calendar still says its summer until September 21, 2025, its already turning into the Fall season in Southeastern Minnesota. Here are some of our favorite fall things:
1. Blossom Hill Orchard and Farm in Preston, MN. Just a 10 minute drive from Lanesboro and located off of US-52, you don't want to miss the fall flavors at Blossom Hill. There are lots of apple varieties to sample and purchase, a case of baked goods your tasetbuds will love (apple turnovers, pies, kolaches, cookies, bars & more!), fall decor (pumpkins, gourds, and more), and local food items like honey, syrup, and snacks. This beautiful orchard on the hill will satisfy all the Fall flavors you are craving. And, on Oct. 4 they celebrate their 10th anniversary!
2. Big Springs Farm Pumpkins and Corn Maze located just outside of Lanesboro in a beautiful rural setting, is a must-do activity on the weekend. This family farm transforms info a fall fun destination with a large corn maze and mini corn maze, delicious concessions, tractor wagon rides, various outdoor play areas (zip line, giant slide, corn pit, bounce pad, & more), and don't forget to pet the goats!
3. Fall brews and spirits: Southeastern Minnesota is home to some great breweries and distilleries. Be sure to go check out their seasonal brews or drinks: Sylvan Brewing in Lanesboro; Karst Brewing in Fountain; Harmony Spirits in Harmony; RockFilter Distillery in Spring Grove; and Bluff Brothers Brewing in Spring Valley.
4. Dream Acres Pizza on the Farm (Fridays through Sept. 26). Head to this off the grid, organic farm in rural Wykoff, MN, for their awesome Friday night pizza.
5. Events: The Fall season has many great events in the area. Lanesboro hosts their Fall Boutique & Business Crawl/Fall Craft Beer & Wine Fest on Sept. 20. Sat., Oct. 4, is the family-friendly fun event called Fall into Lanesboro. The Commonweal Theatre has live, professional theatre through December, and Sylvan Brewing (Sundays) and High Court Pub (Saturdays) in Lanesboro often has live music. 6. Countryside Drives for leaf viewing. Take any road outside Lanesboro (Hyw 250, Co. Rd. 21, Hwy 16, Co. Rd. 8, etc.) and you will be in for a treat to view the Fall colors and scenic bluffs, valleys, prairies, woodlands, farmland, and more.
