- Biking, hiking, kayaking, canoing, tubing, and fishing are the main outdoor recreation opportunities. You can book a guided fishing trip with Root River Rod Co. in Lanesboro or the Driftless Fly Fishing Company in Preston.

Downtown Lanesboro is full of unique shops where you can find kid's items, clothing, jewelry, wall art, sculpture, antiques, kitchen items, jams/jellies/dip mixes/etc., local honey and syrup, purses and bags, fishing gear, shoes, and so much more! The surrounding towns of Preston, Harmony, and Whalan also offer unique retail finds.

Niagara Cave is just outside Harmony, MN, and Mystery Cave is located outside Preston, MN, and is part of Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park (where a day or year-round state park pass is required and can be purchased on site). DYK? Mystery Cave is the longest cave in Minnesota (over 13 miles)!
